Zabaleta: Work to do before title is won

ESPN FC's Craig Burley discusses Manchester City and the Premier League title.

Manchester City defender Pablo Zabaleta said his side had taken a "massive step forward" in their quest for the Premier League title after a 4-0 home win over Aston Villa.

Edin Dzeko celebrates a double strike.

Zabaleta set up the first two goals, scored by Edin Dzeko, after the visitors had frustrated Manuel Pellegrini's side for more than an hour.

A third goal from Stevan Jovetic and a brilliant fourth from Yaya Toure put the icing on the cake -- but Zabaleta was careful not to get carried away, with City still needing a point at home to West Ham on the final day to secure the crown.

Their win leaves them two points clear of Liverpool and with a better goal difference, but the defender recalled the last-day drama that won them the title on goal difference from Manchester United in 2012.

He told Sky Sports 1: "I think it's a massive step forward, but we know that there's still one game to play and we had the experience two years ago on the last day of the season against QPR and sometimes you don't know.

"We know West Ham are safe but they have very good players, they play really well on the counter-attack, they can score on set-pieces, so it's going to be very, very tough, like tonight, and we can't relax."

He added: "It was a very difficult game [against Villa]. It was a very solid performance, but nothing is done yet. We know that there's still one game to play, but it was very important to win tonight.

"We have a great chance, so hopefully on Sunday we can celebrate the title."
