Sergio Aguero has played down concerns regarding his fitness after he was forced to come off injured during Manchester City's 3-2 win against Everton.
City moved to the top of the Premier League table, ahead of Liverpool on goal difference (by +9), with the victory at Goodison Park on Saturday.
Despite getting himself on the scoresheet, Aguero, 25, was forced to come off in the first half after picking up a thigh problem.
There were fears that the striker would not play again for City this season in the remaining two games, however, he has reassured supporters that his injury is not serious.
Thank you for your concern. I left just as a precaution. Fortunately I'm fine, happy for the goal, the win and keeping our dream alive.- Sergio Aguero (@aguerosergiokun) May 3, 2014
Pellegrini had earlier been unable to reveal the severity of the injury Aguero picked up shortly before he struck his 17th league goal of the season.
"Hopefully we will know tomorrow after the doctor has examined him,'' Pellegrini said.
"It is a muscle problem but I don't know exactly where it is. He came to me to tell me he was feeling some strange thing in his leg but he would try to continue playing as much as he could and he scored a very important goal for the team.''
