Nasri: City must play like champions

The FC crew break down the biggest Premier League match of the season between Everton and Manchester City.

Samir Nasri has told Manchester City they need to play like champions and that they must finish the season with a 100 percent record to regain the title.

Manchester City have no room to slip up with the Premier League within reach, says Samir Nasri.

Mooney: Dismal at Goodison
Brewin: Everton's curse on City
Dall: Do City have mettle?

City go to Goodison Park, where Everton have only lost twice in 27 league games, on Saturday with midfielder Nasri saying they have to win as there is no margin for error any more.

Manuel Pellegrini's side are three points behind leaders Liverpool, but with a game in hand, and Nasri admits that they are favourites now.

But although the Frenchman feels Brendan Rodgers' side face a tough game against Crystal Palace on Monday, he believes Chelsea, who have to face Norwich and Cardiff, will end the season by taking six points from six.

"We can't afford to drop any more [points]," Nasri said. "Something could happen for Liverpool at Palace but I don't see Chelsea having another a bad result. We have to win our games, we cannot drop any more.

"I don't rule Chelsea out. [Manager Jose] Mourinho has been ruling them out the whole season. But all I want to think about is us winning our games and being champions. I don't want to think about Mourinho, Rodgers, what they are feeling."

City have rarely been league leaders this season and former Arsenal player Nasri added: "Maybe it's better not to be favourites and to be in behind then at the end sneak out and win it. That's the best way.

"But now we cannot hide any more. We are three games away. We have to play like champions and show we deserve it."

City were champions in 2012 whereas Liverpool are looking to end a 24-year wait to win the league and Nasri believes that gives his side an advantage. He explained: "We have this experience Liverpool doesn't -- and that can be good for us."

City are set to welcome back David Silva, who has missed the last three games with an ankle injury, and Nasri said: "David would be a massive player for any team in the world. We are better with him than without him. He's a great player. He'll always create chances. He's always going to be in that little pocket. He has a great passing range. He is an amazing player."

Fellow midfielder Yaya Toure, who had also been sidelined, made his comeback at Crystal Palace last week and set up one goal and scored another.

"He's been amazing," Nasri added. "The best midfielder in the Premier League, top three in the world. You could see how important he is the way he came back at Palace -- one assist, one goal. I'm biased because he's my good friend. But he has everything -- power, technique, he even scores free-kicks now."
