Antonio Conte hits back at Rudi Garcia

Juventus coach Antonio Conte says rivals Roma have every right to still think they can snatch the title from his side.

There is no sign of peace between Juventus and Roma coaches Antonio Conte and Rudi Garcia as their exchange of views continues.

• Rzouki: It's not over for the defeated Old Lady

Conte took exception to Garcia's insinuation that the smaller clubs in Serie A do not even try against the Bianconeri.

The Juve coach said his Roma counterpart was being "disrespectful and small minded," to which Garcia replied that perhaps Conte was a little "on edge."

"If anybody's on edge it's the people chasing us," Conte said after Juve's 3-1 win at Sassuolo on Monday night left them within a point of clinching a third straight scudetto.

"Garcia's got to be careful when he talks about a culture. The only culture he is fuelling is a suspect one, attacking the sides who have played against us. I've got to pay my compliments to [Simone] Zaza and Sassuolo tonight because they play good football and can still stay up."

Juve's general manager Beppe Marotta stood up for his coach by condemning Garcia's initial remarks. "He was a bit unfortunate with his choice of words," Marotta told Sky Sport Italia.

"What he said was a bit off. He shouldn't be discrediting the effort -- above all our effort, the effort of our opponents and the season Juventus have had."

Juve have the chance to wrap up the Serie A title on Monday when they face Atalanta, while the title will be theirs even without playing should Roma slip up at Catania on Sunday.
