Amalfitano admits uncertain future

West Bromwich Albion midfielder Morgan Amalfitano has admitted that he has no idea where he will be playing his football next season.

Evans: Pep putting pieces together

Amalfitano, 29, has scored four goals and added four assists since joining the Baggies on loan from Marseille in August.

The Frenchman has one year left on his contract at Marseille and he told L’Equipe that he wants to secure West Brom’s place in the Premier League before thinking about next season.

Morgan Amalfitano put West Brom ahead.
Only Saido Berahino has scored more league goals for West Brom than Amalfitano this season.

"I’ll deal with my future when the season is finished," he said. "I really don’t know where I’ll be playing next season."

L’Equipe reports that Everton, Fulham, West Ham, Hull and Sevilla are all interested in Amalfitano, who said he has enjoyed his time in England despite a season at The Hawthorns which began with so much promise ending in the lower reaches of the table.

"I found what I was looking for," he said. "This experience has been particularly enriching for my family and on a sporting level too."

A glorious goal in West Brom’s famous 2-1 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford was a particular highlight for the former Lorient player, who revealed that the French Football Federation had recently asked his club to carry out medical tests on him.

Amalfitano won his only cap for France in a friendly against Germany in February 2012, however, and he says he is "not dreaming" about a place in their World Cup squad.
