Vincent Kompany: Title race is not over

The FC crew give their picks for the Premier League title.

Vincent Kompany has declared it would be "crazy" to believe the title race is over, but says Manchester City now have the advantage after Liverpool’s 2-0 home defeat to Chelsea on Sunday.

City are still in third place, three points behind leaders Liverpool, after beating Crystal Palace 2-0 on Sunday but they have a game in hand on both Brendan Rodgers’ side and Chelsea and the best goal difference in the division.

Captain Kompany believes there will be more twists and turns over the last fortnight of the season, but thinks City’s last dramatic title triumph will give them the belief to will fight to the end.

They became champions in 2012 despite being eight points behind Manchester United with six games to go, and clinched the title with a 94th-minute Sergio Aguero goal on the final day of the season against Queens Park Rangers.

And Kompany told Sky Sports: "We are the team in the league that can't give up, especially after the year we won it.

"You would be crazy to think it is over, but obviously we did our job. It's in our own hands and you can't do more than that.

"We did what we had to do. It is difficult to predict the outcome of this league. There have been so many swaps and changes over the season but we are still very calm."

City go to Everton on Saturday before finishing their season with home games against Aston Villa and West Ham.
