Subotic confident of DFB Pokal success

Neven Subotic is confident Borussia Dortmund can repeat their Bundesliga victory over Bayern Munich when the teams meet in the DFB Pokal final on May 17.

Neven Subotic hasn't played since November due to injury.

Dortmund, who look set to finish runners-up in the Bundesliga to Bayern for a second consecutive season, recently won 3-0 against Pep Guardiola’s dominant side, who have won just three of eight games since winning the title at the earliest ever juncture.

Subotic was ruled out for the season when he tore cruciate ligaments in his right knee during November and will play no part as Juergen Klopp’s side attempt to disrupt Bayern’s chances of a treble.

And although he concedes that Dortmund remain underdogs, he believes they are more than capable of continuing their role as Bayern’s bogey team.

“It will take years until we are one on financial level with Bayern, and we remain outsiders. But, in the past, we have shown that we can beat them,” Subotic said,

Subotic added that he had not watched Bayern’s Champions League semifinal first leg defeat against Real Madrid on Wednesday.

“I heard the first one [Atletico vs. Chelsea] wasn’t all that good, and yesterday wasn’t too exciting either,” he said. “I don’t watch football that much.”
