Insigne's agent talks up transfer

The agent of Lorenzo Insigne has fuelled speculation linking him with a move away from Napoli this summer, even bringing arch-rivals Juventus into the frame to sign him.

Lorenzo Insigne is a man in demand, according to his agent.
Lorenzo Insigne is a man in demand, according to his agent.

Doubts have been cast over the 22-year-old's future in Naples after he clashed with teammate Jose Callejon during last weekend's 1-1 draw with Udinese.

Coach Rafael Benitez was verbally abused by the forward as he tried to placate him, and his agent Fabio Andreotti has  raised questions about his future by revealing a list of potential suitors.

"Lorenzo is admired by lots of clubs and I have had plenty of enquiries for him, but I don't think Napoli want to sell," he told Radio Punto Zero.

"I can't confirm who the clubs are, but I think Napoli are keen on holding onto him, given the number of games he's been playing this season."

Fiorentina, AC Milan and Roma have been touted as potential destinations with clubs abroad also monitoring the progress of a player who could yet earn a place in the Italy squad for the World Cup this summer. Juventus could also throw their hat into the ring, should Insigne be deemed surplus to requirements by the Partenopei.

"Lorenzo would refuse to go there were they to ask him today," Andreotti added. "He would say absolutely not because he's a Napoli fan and he's happy here, but if his relationship with Napoli were to come to an end, then you can never say never. Even Juve, as a last resort, could be a decent solution for his future."
