Barca to sign teenager Tajti - report

FC's Steve Nicol asserts that Lionel Messi showed heart today and believes Barcelona might be headed in the right direction.

Barcelona have reportedly won a race with La Liga rivals Real Madrid to sign Hungarian youngster Matyas Tajti.

Tajiti, 15, has, according to Marca, been to both Madrid and Barcelona for trials since impressing scouts at a youth tournament late last year.

The midfielder has now reportedly chosen to join Barca’s La Masia youth system when he turns 16 in June, according to a report in Hungarian outlet Blikk, cited by Marca.

“It is no longer a secret,” his father Jozsef Tajti said. “Matyas has signed a three-year contract with Barca.”

Tajti junior currently plays at the Puskas Akademia in his native country, where his father is the director.

In March, the Camp Nou outfit confirmed the signing of Croatian youngster Alen Halilovic, 17, who is set to join Barca B from the start of next season.

On Wednesday, Barca were boosted by the news that FIFA has temporarily suspended the transfer ban handed to the club meaning they will be able to buy players this summer, pending an appeal.
