Bayern Munich right-back Rafinha has been handed a three-match ban following his red card in Saturday’s 3-0 defeat to Borussia Dortmund.

Rafinha was sent off in injury time after he raised his hand to Henrikh Mkhitaryan as Bayern slumped to a second consecutive Bundesliga loss.
Bayern’s sporting director, Matthias Sammer, said referee Felix Zwayer’s decision had been “too harsh,” but the DFB’s disciplinary committee supported the official and handed the Brazilian a three-match suspension.
The 28-year-old will miss all but one of Bayern’s remaining Bundesliga matches but remains eligible for Wednesday’s DFB-Pokal semifinal against second-tier club Kaiserslautern.
Rafinha, who won only his second cap for Brazil in their 5-0 friendly victory over South Africa in March, is hoping to be part of the Selecao squad for this summer’s World Cup on home soil.
