Cazorla reveals interest in Iker Casillas

Santi Cazorla has told Sport360 that Arsenal are interested in Iker Casillas but expects the goalkeeper to remain at Real Madrid.

Mangan: Arsenal quiet after defeat

Arsenal are reportedly considering options to replace current No. 1 Wojciech Szczesny, and Cazorla revealed he has spoken to fellow Spain international Casillas, 32, about the prospect of a move to Emirates Stadium.

However, despite remaining back-up to Diego Lopez in La Liga under Carlo Ancelotti, Casillas has indicated in recent months that he wants to stay at the Bernabeu for the rest of his career and Cazorla accepts a move is unlikely.

“I’ve told him [I would like him to join Arsenal], but so far he has just been curious about my experience in England,” he said. “His situation is very complicated, but he has to make a decision.

“Lots of clubs want him, including Arsenal, but I think that it would be very difficult to leave Real Madrid because of what the club represents. He knows what he has [at Madrid] and what he could find at another club.”

Casillas has spent his entire career with Madrid, winning La Liga five times and the Champions League in 2000 and 2002.
