Rummenigge sure of Toni Kroos stay

Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos talks about his contract situation and explains that he will make his decision in the summer.

Toni Kroos will be a Bayern Munich player next season, the club’s CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told reporters on Monday.

Kroos is under contract at Bayern until 2015 and after Arjen Robben recently extended his stay at the Allianz Arena, there has been increased focus on the former's future.

In January, Kroos was linked with a switch to Manchester United, when David Moyes was seen in the stands with one of Kroos’ agents at Bayern’s away match at Borussia Moenchengladbach.

At that time, Kroos also put all contract talks on hold until the summer and said that the existing offer from FC Bayern Munich does not match his demands.

“It is safe to say that Toni Kroos will play for FC Bayern next season,” Rummenigge told reporters on Monday. “In addition to it, it is also our will that he wears our jersey beyond June 30, 2015.”

Also speaking to reporters at Munich Airport, Kroos said that being scouted by United will “not play a role” in the upcoming Champions League quarterfinal tie.

“I fly to Manchester with only one thing on my mind: To qualify for the semifinals,” Kroos said.

United manager Moyes also refused to discuss the club’s interest in Kroos during his prematch news conference in Manchester on Monday.

"Bayern Munich have a lot of good players, not just Toni Kroos," Moyes said. "I would never talk about any player at another club and Toni Kroos is a Bayern Munich player."
