Kaka happy to stay put at AC Milan

Kaka says he wants to stay with AC Milan next season despite having the option to terminate his contract one year early, as reports claim the Brazilian has a verbal agreement to join Orlando City.

Kaka will discuss his future with the club at the end of the season.

Paul: Kaka at the double

A clause in the 31-year-old’s current Milan deal, which expires in 2015, means he can walk away from the club at the end of the season since they now cannot qualify for the Champions League.

AS reports that the midfielder has an agreement to move to the Major League Soccer outfit ahead of their debut campaign in the division in 2015, while club president Philip Rawlins has taken to Twitter to tell the ex-Real Madrid player: “We’re ready when you are Ricardo.”

However, after marking his 300th league appearance for the Rossoneri with two goals in their 3-0 win over Chievo on Saturday, Kaka pledged his future to the Italian club.

"Let's talk about the present and I'm happy here and I hope I can stay," he told Sky Sport Italia. "Playing 300 games in Serie A for Milan is a special achievement, both for me and for the club."

Previously, Kaka said he would be tempted by a move to the MLS should he turn his back on Milan.

Rossoneri general manager Adriano Galliani then confirmed reports that the midfielder will be free to leave the club should they fail to qualify for the Champions League.

Napoli's 2-0 win over Juventus on Sunday night made it mathematically impossible for Milan to make it into the top three this season, leaving them only the Europa League to play for over the final seven games of the season.

"It's no big secret Kaka's contract expires in 2015, but should Milan not take part in the Champions League, he and only he has the chance to rescind," Galliani told La Gazzetta dello Sport. "But I'm confident and hope that he'll stay with Milan."
