Real Salt Lake stop Toronto FC

Alvaro Saborio scored in each half to lead Real Salt Lake to a 3-0 victory over Toronto FC.

Alvaro Saborio scored in each half to lead Real Salt Lake to a 3-0 victory over Toronto FC on Saturday night.

Real Salt Lake gave Toronto its first loss.

Luis Gil had a first-half goal for Real Salt Lake (2-0-2) which won at home for the first time this season. Salt Lake also improved 6-1 at home against Toronto (2-1-0) in MLS regular-season matches.

Saborio converted a penalty kick following a foul by Doneil Henry in the 11th minute. He threaded the ball inside the right post for his 13th career goal off a penalty kick for RSL.

Justin Meram scored in the final minute of second-half stoppage time, lifting the Columbus Crew to a 2-1 victory over the Seattle Sounders.

Meram's winning score was set up by Federico Higuain's corner kick. The ball went beyond the top of the penalty area to Meram, who drilled a 25-yarder into the back right corner past Sounders goalkeeper Stefan Frei.

The Crew (3-0-0) have won their first three games for the first time in the club's 19-year history.

Higuain converted a penalty in the 59th minute to tie it at 1. Kenny Cooper scored in the 23rd minute for the Sounders (2-2-0).

Dom Dwyer scored in stoppage time to help Sporting Kansas City rally for a 3-2 win over the Colorado Rapids.

Dom Dwyer scored soon after coming on for Sporting.

Dwyer was a late-game substitution for Sporting Kansas City (2-1-1). Benny Feilhaber tied the game in the 79th minute.

Graham Zusi scored and Sal Zizzo added two assists for the defending MLS Cup champions.

Vincente Sanchez had two goals for Colorado (1-1-1), both on penalties.

Mauro Diaz scored in the 84th minute to lead unbeaten FC Dallas to a 2-1 victory over the Portland Timbers.

Dallas' 10 points leads Major League Soccer. Dallas (3-0-1) is off to its best start since 2006, where it also logged 10 points through the first four games.

The teams played the second half with 10 men apiece after Portland left back Michael Harrington and Dallas right winger Je-Vaughn Watson were ejected for an off-the-ball fight with about five minutes left in the first half.

Dallas went ahead in the third minute of first-half stoppage time on a Blas Perez header, but the Timbers tied it in the 67th minute when Dallas defender Matt Hedges deflected a Maximiliano Urruti pass into his own net.

Lee Nguyen scored in the 93rd minute, and the New England Revolution beat the San Jose Earthquakes 2-1 on Saturday night for their first win of the season.

Nguyen raced to Scott Caldwell's long pass down the left wing, and then cut inside before deking San Jose defender Clarence Goodson and beating goalkeeper Jon Busch for the winning score for New England (1-2-1).

The Revolution ended a 305-minute scoring drought to start the season when San Jose defender Victor Bernardez knocked the ball into the Earthquakes' net while trying to make a last-ditch clearance.

Chris Wondolowski had a second-half equalizer for the Earthquakes.

Kenny Miller scored on a penalty kick in the 58th minute, leading the unbeaten Vancouver Whitecaps to a 2-1 victory over the Houston Dynamo on Saturday.

Jordan Harvey had Vancouver's first goal in the 14th minute in front of a sellout crowd of 21,000 at B.C. Place Stadium.

Miller rolled his spot kick into the right corner of the net, lifting the Whitecaps to a 2-0 lead. Ricardo Clark responded for Houston in the 75th minute, but that was all the scoring for the Dynamo (2-1-0).

Miller had to re-take his crucial kick because teammate Darren Mattocks was still in the 18-yard box when he put the ball into the net. The penalty kick was awarded after Houston defender Kofi Sarkodie was called for a hand ball in the box in the 56th minute.

Quincy Amarikwa's goal in the 82nd minute lifted the Chicago Fire into a soggy 2-2 draw against DC United.

DC United earned its first point of the season.

Playing through a steady rain at RFK Stadium, United (0-2-1) extended its club-record winless streak in league play to 15 games dating to the 2013 season. It's the fifth-longest streak in MLS history.

Jhon Kennedy Hurtado scored in the 27th minute for Chicago (0-1-3), which has ties in each of its last three matches after a season-opening loss.

Fabian Espindola scored in the first half for United, and Perry Kitchen made it 2-1 when he scored his third career goal in the second half.

Marco Di Vaio scored in the 80th minute, helping the Montreal Impact rally for a 1-1 draw against the Philadelphia Union.

Montreal (0-3-1) received a boost with the return of the 37-year-old Di Vaio, who scored 20 goals last season. The forward received a red card during the Impact's playoff game against Houston and was subsequently suspended for the first three games this season.

Vincent Nogueira scored his first career goal for the Union (1-1-2) on a cold, rainy afternoon. He received a crisp pass from Jack McInerney and sent the ball past Montreal goalkeeper Troy Perkins in the 35th minute.
