Griezmann dismisses PSG rumour

Antoine Griezmann is one of several Real Sociedad stars who could take advantage of Barca's shaky defending.
Antoine Griezmann has been in excellent form for Sociedad this season.

Real Sociedad attacker Antoine Griezmann has denied a story that a summer move to Paris Saint-Germain has already been fully sealed.

The 23-year-old used his own personal Twitter account to deny any talks had taken place with the Qatari-backed Parisians.

“After having seen the news about my possible agreement with PSG, I want to deny any type of agreement or conversations with this club,” Griezmann tweeted. “The rumours of a possible signing with PSG are not correct, there has been no contact or decision to leave.”

Punto Pelota claimed that Griezmann, who has a 30 million euro release clause and also been linked with Manchester United and Arsenal in recent months, had already agreed to join the big-spending Ligue 1 leaders.

The report alleged the move was sure to take place after the summer’s World Cup, and would see him treble his current wages.

La Real youth product Griezmann made his debut for the France senior side in February’s 2-0 win over Netherlands, when a ban imposed for skipping camp when on under-21 duty in October 2012 had expired.

The call-up was no surprise given the Bourgogne-born player’s outstanding form before Christmas, although a recent dip in form has seen him score just five times in 17 games since La Liga’s winter break.
