Marotta plays down Paul Pogba exit talk

Juventus president Beppe Marotta has assured his club's fans that Paul Pogba will not be leaving in the summer.

Agnelli confident over Pogba

In an interview with TF1 in his homeland, the France international hinted that he may consider his options and leave Turin in the summer.

"Things are going very well and I just want to keep focused on what's happening on the field, but when the season is over, I could open up," Pogba had said.

There would be a queue of clubs lining up for the 21-year-old, who has emerged as one of the pillars of the Juve team this season, but Marotta is convinced he will not be going anywhere.

"The fans needn't worry," he told Sky ahead of Juve's 1-0 win over Catania on Sunday evening, a result that restored their 14-point advantage at the top of Serie A. "They were remarks he said while with his national team and I think they just got lost in translation.

"All he said was that he wants to focus on playing football and not waste time talking about other things."

Pogba has scored six goals in 27 games this season, missing only two Serie A matches, including Sunday night's win due to suspension. The FIFA U-20 World Cup winner has been an ever-present both in the Champions League and Europa League for the Bianconeri.

His value has rocketed since he arrived in Turin on a free transfer from Manchester United, who are reportedly interested in re-signing him. They face competition for his signature from Paris Saint-Germain, although Juve are trying to extend his contract, which expires in 2016.
