Pellegrini: Fulham is City's biggest game

Manuel Pellegrini has declared that the meeting with rock-bottom Fulham is the biggest game of Manchester City’s week – even though they face Manchester United and Arsenal.

• Mooney: Looking to the future
• Mison: Goal feast or City blues?

Pellegrini’s title challengers host Felix Magath’s relegation-threatened team on Saturday before they have a Manchester derby at Old Trafford on Tuesday and visit the Emirates Stadium on Mar. 30. And the Chilean said: “The most important game in this week is Fulham. It is a very tough game.”

Pellegrini has insisted he will not rest players for the clash with David Moyes’ side, adding: “We are just thinking about Fulham, not about Manchester United.”

City begin the weekend in fourth place, but with three games in hand on some of their title rivals.

And Pellegrini said: “I think it's possible that we can win the title. But Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool can also do it. During the whole season we've been very close. We'll see the team that drops less points between now and the end.”

They have 11 matches to go and Pellegrini said: “Of course, we can win all the games. But we can lose them as well. We have 11 important ones. If we win more than the other teams we can win the title.”

Striker Alvaro Negredo is in the longest goal drought of his City career and has not scored in his last eight appearances.

But Pellegrini said: “I'm not worried about Alvaro. I know him very well, I'm sure he will continue playing and scoring as he always does."
