Lille players were jeered at the final whistle after splitting the points with lowly Nantes in a goalless draw on Saturday in Ligue 1.
Lille dominated possession in the first half but played at too slow a pace to destabilize the visiting Nantes defense. Nantes had the best chance in the 38th minute when Itay Shechter outpaced Lille midfielder Florent Blamont but goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama palmed away the shot from a tight angle.
Lille trails second-place Monaco by six points while Nantes is five points clear of the relegation zone.
Paris Saint-Germain tops the league with an eight-point lead over Monaco. PSG hosts Saint-Etienne on Sunday while Monaco visits Lyon and Bordeaux faces Montpellier.
Valenciennes and Sochaux kept their safety hopes alive wins in Ligue 1 on Saturday.
Valenciennes striker Majeed Waris converted a rebound in the 62nd minute to help his team beat Evian 1-0 and pull within two points of Evian, in the 17th and safe place.
Sochaux beat Lorient 2-0 as midfielder Roy Contout capitalised on a poor clearance from the Lorient defense to score in the seventh minute before defender Stoppila Sunzu doubled the lead with a header in the 79th.
Sochaux remained in 19th, five points behind Evian.
Elsewhere, Toulouse earned a third straight win by edging Rennes 3-2 to climb to eighth place.
Nice moved into the middle of the table with a 2-0 victory over Bastia. Bastia was down to 10 men from the 39th when Yannick Cahuzac picked up a second yellow card, and Nice could score only once more.
Last-place Ajaccio lost 2-1 to Guingamp, Claudio Beauvue netting the winner by heading in a cross from Thibault Giresse in the 74th.
