No Inter swoop for Hernandez, Torres

Inter Milan have denied they have made approaches for Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez and Chelsea forward Fernando Torres.

Hernandez and Torres will not be Inter's strikeforce next season, according to Erik Thohir.

• Wilson: Vidic deal boosts Inter
• Mitten: Hernandez frustrated

The 2010 European champions have been linked with both attackers as Inter, who have already agreed a deal to take United captain Nemanja Vidic to the San Siro next season, continue their overhaul.

But president Erik Thohir insists they have not held talks with either the Mexican or the Spaniard about a summer switch.

He told Inter's official website: "Chicharito [Hernandez] is a good player but we have spoken neither with he nor with Torres."

Torres remains the most expensive signing in the history of English football after costing Chelsea 50 million pounds when he moved from Liverpool in 2011 and was a reported 20 million-pound target for Inter.

The former Atletico Madrid captain has scored 19 goals in 102 league games for Chelsea, who are expected to buy a new striker this summer.

United had been linked with a swap deal involving Hernandez and Inter midfielder Fredy Guarin, while the Mexican striker also reportedly interests Arsenal and Tottenham.

Hernandez has only made four Premier League starts for United this season and the last of them came in 2013.

In January his agent, Eduardo Hernandez, said he was wanted by six clubs in Spain, France, Germany and Italy, including one of the biggest in the world.
