Seedorf: Only a tank can stop Juventus

AC Milan coach Clarence Seedorf believes Juventus can only be stopped by a “tank” after his side became the latest to lose to the Bianconeri.

Goalscorer Carlos Tevez celebrates with Paul Pogba in the win at Milan.

Juve opened up an 11-point advantage at the top of Serie A on Sunday night thanks to a 2-0 win at the San Siro.

Antonio Conte's side could count themselves fortunate to come away with all three points, though, after being put under persistent pressure by the Rossoneri, but for all their efforts, the home side could not break through.

Carlos Tevez's 25-yard piledriver and Fernando Llorente's opener, which the Argentina international helped set up, separated the two adversaries.

"Only a tank can stop Juve," Seedorf said. "They have always shown their strength and today, [Carlos] Tevez made the difference. He's a world-class player. That touch on the way to the 1-0 was sensational, and then he scored a goal similar to the kind I scored during my career. All you can do is applaud."

With 21 shots to 10, and 58 percent possession, Milan warranted more against the Serie A leaders.

However, it is precisely that ruthlessness which Seedorf believes currently leaves Juve in a league of their own.

"We had plenty of opportunities, but we weren't able to turn them into goals," he said. "The difference is that they have such reliable players, but we've got players like that too, just think of Kaka."

Nevertheless, Milan will still take plenty of positives out of their performance, even if the result did not match what was shown on the pitch.

"The team's improving," Milan general manager Adriano Galliani told Sky Italia. "I've spoken to the president and he's serene and satisfied with the side. He shares this view -- the team is growing. It's sad when you lose, but I see the glass half-full."
