Jose: Ibra impossible, Cavani difficult

Jose Mourinho has reportedly admitted being interested in signing Radamel Falcao, after conceding Chelsea are 'missing a striker'.

Jose Mourinho believes it would be "impossible" to bring Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Chelsea and almost as difficult to sign his Paris Saint-Germain teammate Edinson Cavani.

The Chelsea manager, 51, also insisted that PSG would not succeed in prising Eden Hazard away from the Premier League leaders.

Mourinho worked with Ibrahimovic at Inter Milan but, speaking on French television on Sunday, he dismissed talk of the pair being reunited in London.

"It's impossible," he told the Canal Football Club. "He's happy in Paris. I know that because we're friends and we're in contact. I don't think PSG, with their economic potential, will ever want to open the door for him. It's mission impossible."

Rumours that former Napoli striker Cavani will be on his way to Chelsea at the end of the season have persisted, but Mourinho says PSG are unlikely to sell a player they spent 64 million euros on.

"PSG paid a lot of money for him," said Mourinho, who recently indicated that financial fair play had prevented a move for the Uruguay international last summer. "His contract is also incredible.

"Maybe it's not impossible like Zlatan, because I think that Zlatan is more important to the structure of the club, but I think that it's also difficult."

Belgium star Hazard, 23, has been linked with a move in the opposite direction. The in-form midfielder last week ruled out a switch for the foreseeable future, though, and Mourinho said that he's the type of player Chelsea want to keep "for 10 years."

Mourinho has a long-standing relationship with PSG's Qatari owners and the former Real Madrid boss was himself tipped to move to Paris last summer. However, he said that, in the end, he did not have a decision to make.

"I didn't say yes or no -- I didn't receive a real, direct offer," he revealed.

Mourinho says he now wants to see out his four-year deal at Chelsea but he did not rule out eventually crossing the channel.

"I could work in France in the future," he said. "Why not? I think at the moment it's a league that doesn't have the same emotion as the English league. At the moment, it's a championship where it's easy to say who will finish first and second. For me, at this stage of my career, I need a bit more than that."
