Ancelotti cools Arturo Vidal to Real talk

Gab Marcotti reveals his best player in Serie A

Carlo Ancelotti has denied that Real Madrid are interested in signing midfielder Arturo Vidal from Juventus.

Arturo Vidal celebrates the first of his two goals in the win over Sampdoria.
Vidal is considered one of the best midfielders in the world.

Madrid have been regularly linked with the Chile international -- as have Manchester United -- during recent transfer windows and, even though Vidal has recently signed a new deal tying him to Juventus until 2017, Marca claimed last weekend said that the Bernabeu club could offer 60 million euros to sign him next summer.

The Blancos coach told Corriere dello Sport that although his midfield resources were a bit light at the moment, he was happy with what he had available, and would also be able to call on currently sidelined Germany international Sami Khedira before the season ended.

• Train: Gareth Bale vs. Jese -- too early to decide

“It is true that we are lacking a midfielder, but many people forget that before the end of the season we will have Khedira back,” Ancelotti said. “And we in the meantime we can allow youngsters like Casemiro and [Asier] Illarramendi to have a chance to mature."

Vidal does look well suited to the 4-3-3 system which Ancelotti has introduced with success at Madrid at recent months.

After Khedira suffered a serious knee injury last November, Angel Di Maria and Luka Modric have been deployed as "shuttling" midfielders who play either side of "holder" Xabi Alonso in his preferred 4-3-3 system -- and the side are currently 25 games unbeaten.
