Ivica Olic: Stoke would be a dream move

Wolfsburg striker Ivica Olic has told WAZ he could fulfill his dreams of playing in the Premier League with an offer from Stoke City, and will make a decision soon.

The 34-year-old is in the final few months of his Wolfsburg deal, and despite a contract extension from Die Wolfe on the table as well as bids from the Middle East, Olic could leave Germany after seven years to play for the Potters.

The Croatia international has made a total of 185 Bundesliga appearances and scored 59 goals for Hamburg, Bayern and Wolfsburg after initially joining Die Rothosen in January 2007, and now is tempted to spend his final years of his career in England.

“I can prolong in Wolfsburg for one more year, and would also have an option [for another year]," he said. "What the club has offered me is very okay. I am satisfied with that.

“I don’t know if I will stay. As a young player my dream was to play in Premier League. The question never really came up after that. And now, at this age, I get offered the chance,” he said about the offer from the Potters.

According to kicker, Stoke manager Mark Hughes has “leaned on” Olic to join his team, and the Premier League side are favourites to land the striker’s signature.

“To play against Arsenal, Chelsea or Liverpool one more time, that excites me,” Olic added.
