Prem's 10 most underrated players

Man City defender Pablo Zabaleta has helped strengthen the team's defense and attack this season.

The Premier League is recognized as the most popular league across Europe, and for that reason there are many players who will reach the spotlight based on what they bring to the field. However, this is not always the case, and while certain individual players have grabbed headlines this season for their performances, others haven’t gotten the publicity they deserve for their efforts.

This can be especially true for Prem teams that are out of title contention, but it is also true for the more nondescript players who are playing significant roles on contending teams. With that in mind, here are 10 of the Premier League's top under-the-radar stars from this season, including goalies, defenders, midfielders and forwards.

Asmir Begovic, goalkeeper, Stoke City

Begovic has faced the fourth most shots on target of all goalkeepers this season, but has still managed to maintain the fifth highest save percentage in the league. Stoke’s modest six clean sheets don’t do Begovic justice, as the keeper has also shown strong command of the penalty area this season. The Bosnian has saved 80 percent of shot attempts coming from his penalty area (fourth highest percentage in the Premier League), while his 45 claimed crosses rank third among all Premier League goalies.
