Wilshere: Arsenal can win trophies

Liverpool vs Arsenal: whoever wins this game will win the title, now that Man City have officially been "Found Out." This is Ian Fiveankles's 28th Liverpool Arsenal game, and Anthony celebrates by calling the Liverpool ex pro soundbite hotline.

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has said he believes the club can continue their push for a first trophy in nine years, insisting they had not needed to make any major signings in January.

Cross: Arsenal should give Sagna a new deal
Wenger: No regrets over Suarez

The Gunners are two points clear at the top of the Premier League, and Wilshere believes they will have a "real chance" of silverware if they can get through a tough few weeks without major setbacks.

They travel to Anfield to face Liverpool on Saturday, with Wilshere set to return to action after an ankle problem, before a home game against Manchester United and a Champions League clash with holders and runaway Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich.

Arsenal's only signing of the January window, Sweden international Kim Kallstrom -- who arrived on loan -- is sidelined with a back injury.

But Wilshere told the Sun: "As a squad, we have showed we are fine as we are. We have shown we have enough in the squad. We have so many midfielders, for example.

"People keep saying we need a new striker, but Olivier Giroud has been great and Lukas Podolski can play there. We know that we can create chances and score goals.

"The next two months are really important and, if we come out of those unscathed, we will have a real chance.

"It would mean a lot to win something -- it would mean everything, to be honest. To win something for the first team would be amazing, not just for us but also for the fans.

"We beat Spurs in the third round of the FA Cup and showed everyone we are focused in that competition. The Premier League and the Champions League -- anything can happen. You saw that when Chelsea won it."

The 22-year-old praised Arsenal's supporters, saying they had lifted the team in numerous games including the recent 2-0 home win against Crystal Palace in which the Gunners had to be patient before breaking down a stubborn visiting defence.

"Our fans have been really good," he explained. "They have always been great to me, but especially this year.

"This year, I can look back at five or six games when I think the fans have actually helped us -- against Cardiff and at home to Palace."
