Kroos: Contract situation no problem

Toni Kroos has said he is happy at Bayern Munich and believes his current contract situation is not a problem.

Manchester United are said to be keen to sign Toni Kroos, who appears to be edging closer to leaving Bayern.
Kroos has yet to agree a new Bayern deal.

• Season ticket holders warned
• Robben set to extend deal

Germany international Kroos has yet to agree a new deal with the Bundesliga champions and had been linked with a Premier League move, but took to Facebook to urge supporters not to be too concerned about speculation surrounding his future.

"You should not believe everything that is written in some papers," he wrote. "It's a fact that I am very happy to play for FC Bayern, and my position as a starter is also very good. But it's also a fact that, as of today, we have not reached an agreement over a new contract.

"But since the contract only expires in 2015, this is no big problem and we will see what the future brings." He said he now wanted to focus on a season he hoped could be "as successful as the last one."

Last month, Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said that the club had been unable to agree a contract extension with Kroos, 24, who was linked with Manchester United.

Doubts over his future increased when he threw gloves at the bench in frustration when substituted during Bayern's 2-1 win over Stuttgart, and he spent the next game against Frankfurt on the bench.

Late last week, Bayern Munich sporting director Matthias Sammer said the club had no plans to sell the Germany midfielder, telling Sueddeutsche Zeitung: "As [Bayern president] Uli Hoeness recently said, Bayern are a buying club, not a selling club."
