Palace confirm double deal

Crystal Palace confirmed a double deal shortly after the transfer window shut, with Thomas Ince arriving from Blackpool on loan and Joe Ledley signing from Celtic on a permanent deal.

England Under-21 winger Ince moved to Palace on loan until the end of the season, when his contract with Blackpool expires.

Ledley's contract was also up in the summer and the Wales international has swapped Celtic for south London, signing a three-and-a-half year deal.

"It has been a long day," Ledley told Palace Player. "I have just been sitting at home, waiting to get some news. I managed to get a flight down and get everything sorted in time, so I am very pleased to have joined a fantastic club.

Ledley said it was "every boy's dream to play in the Premier League."

"I have played in the Champions League and I look forward to the challenge forward ahead," he said. "It is going to be difficult, but we have brought in some fantastic players and I am looking forward to it."

Keen to avoid immediate relegation back to the Championship, Eagles manager Tony Pulis made five signings on the final day of the transfer window.

Wolves goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey was first to arrive at Selhurst Park -- news which was swiftly followed by Jason Puncheon's loan from Southampton being made permanent.

Scott Dann arrived from Blackburn for an undisclosed fee on a three-and-a-half year deal as the deadline approached, before late confirmation came through of the arrivals of Ince and Ledley.

As well as new arrivals, several players departed Selhurst Park before the deadline.

Nurnberg of the Bundesliga signed Jose Campana on loan with a view to a permanent move, while Stephen Dobbie has returned to Blackpool on loan for the remainder of the season as part of the deal that brought Ince to south London.

Palace also announced the mutual termination of Wales defender Darcy Blake's contract.
