SUNDERLAND, England -- Argentina striker Ignacio Scocco has completed his move to Sunderland from Brazilian club Internacional.
The 28-year-old Scocco has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with Sunderland, becoming Uruguayan manager Gus Poyet's fourth capture in the January transfer window.
Scocco tweeted a picture of himself signing the deal, saying "A new challenge, new objectives...Thanks for all the support."

Scocco's compatriots Oscar Ustari and Santiago Vergini have already signed for the North-East club, while Spanish full-back Marcos Alonso has joined on loan.
Scocco was in the stands at the Stadium of Light on Wednesday as Sunderland beat Stoke 1-0 to climb out of the Premier League relegation zone.
