Why Man City will win the Prem

Four seasons after purchasing Manchester City, owner Sheik Mansour’s mission is starting to come into focus, setting out to provide the resources that would make the club compete for trophies at every level, while also playing the most attractive soccer in Europe.

Although the latter can be debated, particularly after Liverpool’s recent Merseyside derby display, at this moment Manchester City has to be considered the favorite to win the Premier League. The Sky Blues remain one point behind Arsenal in the standings, but they are riding a 19-game unbeaten streak in all competitions, and City’s plus-38 goal differential is 13 goals better than the next Premier League team.  

Part of this success can be attributed to the increased parity at the top of the Premier League, but City has several key attributes that at the end of the campaign will push them to the top of the table. In particular, the flexible style that manager Manuel Pellegrini has adopted has allowed City to thrive this season, and along with stability and consistency in central midfield, will continue to drive the team both defensively and in the attack.
