Vucinic and Guarin wait on swap move

The swap deal between Juventus striker Mirko Vucinic and Inter Milan midfielder Fredy Guarin is yet to be completed as the two clubs have been unable to agree terms.

Wilson: Inter losing winning feeling

Vucinic, 30, has already passed a medical with Inter, and he arrived in the Lombardy city as Guarin, 27, prepared to move to Turin after having agreed terms with the Bianconeri.

However, despite negotiations lasting over six hours on Monday, an agreement was not reached. Inter president Erick Thohir is understood to be unconvinced by the move, which was initially proposed as a straight swap until the Indonesian demanded more money for Guarin.

Fans of Inter have already made it clear what they think about the potential transfer.

Supporters from Inter's Curva Nord wrote: "Weakening our squad to strengthen one of our rivals -- what kind of a policy is that? Replacing a young, technically decent player for one who is not so young? It all leaves us a little perplexed."

Thohir's continued absence throughout a disappointing period of form has also upset Inter's fans.

The statement added: "We would advise Mr Thohir to forget about baseball, American football, the NBA and anything else which is light years away from what we have here. We don't quite understand what he is doing and what's on his mind, what's motivating him.

"But we want to see less of the smiles. We want to hear the word 'business' less. We want action. If Mr Thohir cannot find a strong person to manage an Italian football club, or be more present himself, then we would warmly invite him to stay at home."

Thohir responded to the fans' frustrations on Monday night, saying on his club's official website that he can "feel and understand the disappointment and frustration of our supporters throughout the world."

He continued: "Nobody is satisfied with the recent results. However, I am a president who is used to resolving problems by myself, by rolling up my sleeves. This is a time of change for Inter. We need to work even harder to be united as a team. I have faith in our management and I cannot wait to build a future for Inter together."
