Thiago Silva: Ibra and I staying at PSG

Thiago Silva has told Canal+ that he and Zlatan Ibrahimovic will see out their contracts at Paris Saint-Germain.

Ibrahimovic, 32, and Thiago Silva, 29, were both linked with moves away from PSG last summer, having only arrived in a joint switch from AC Milan the year before.

Despite the speculation, the pair went on to sign one-year contract extensions at the Parc des Princes on improved terms.

And speaking after PSG's 5-0 trouncing of Nantes on Sunday -- a result that leaves Laurent Blanc's side five points clear atop of the Ligue 1 table -- Thiago Silva stated that he and Ibrahimovic will be staying put.

"I feel really good here with everyone. I think I'm going to stay until the end of my contract. Ibra is going to stay too," he said.

"There are many positive things [from the victory against Nantes]. We also have to play like that in the Champions League."

Ibrahimovic struck twice in the triumph to take his season's tally to an impressive 17 goals, while he notched a tenth assist to ensure he leads both Ligue 1 categories.

Though often portrayed as arrogant and unnapproachable, PSG teammate Salvatore Sirigu told Gazzetta dello Sport that the Sweden international is misunderstood by the media.

"From the outside, Ibra scares you, but in the dressing room he's funny and makes fun of himself a lot,” he said. “He doesn't play on his status. Sometimes he's hard with others, but he's above all hard on himself. He wants to win, always."
