Napoli confirm Jorginho signing

Napoli have announced the signing of Italian-Brazilian midfielder Jorginho from Hellas Verona.

Jorginho, 22, has signed a contract until 2018 and told his new side’s official website he was delighted to make the switch.

He said: “I’m happy to wear the Napoli shirt. It is a big team with great supporters. It will be great to play at the San Paolo and I can’t wait to start my adventure with the Azzurri.”

Agent Joao Santos told Tuttomercatoweb that Jorginho had rejected other offers to join Napoli because he welcomed the “important project” at the club.

He added: “Jorginho has worked so hard to get this opportunity -- now he wants to play for Napoli, with the same serious approach with which he played for Verona.

“He is a professional and so he knows that his career may take him from one team to another, and now joins Napoli with a great desire to do well.”
