Can Chelsea win the Prem?

After Chelsea’s 3-2 loss to Stoke in early December, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho tactfully proclaimed that his team was not good enough to win the Premier League. His players responded positively to that message and have since won five of their past six matches in fairly convincing fashion.

The recent victories have put Chelsea just two points out of first place (behind both Arsenal and Manchester City), and despite Mourinho’s claims -- whether truthful or tactful -- his team is a legitimate contender to win the Premier League title. This would be an outstanding accomplishment for the Portuguese manager, as the recent Nemanja Matic transfer is a sign that he is also focused on the future. But for Chelsea to triumph over the likes of the Gunners and Man City, Mourinho has some significant issues to sort out, particularly as it relates to the team’s lack of attacking personnel.

Here’s a look at a few key questions surrounding the Blues heading into the second half of the season, followed by an examination of Chelsea’s chances of finishing at the top of the table.
