Ivan Rakitic has told footmercato.net he is "proud" to be linked with Paris Saint-Germain, but added he hopes to repay the faith Sevilla have shown in him.

On the Move: Transfer blog

PSG coach Laurent Blanc has often stated his hope the French champions will strengthen his squad, with a central midfielder particularly high on the former World Cup winner's list of priorities.

After striking eight goals and registering six assists in 16 La Liga games this season, Rakitic, 25, has been mentioned along with Paul Pogba, Yohan Cabaye and Miralem Pjanic as potential PSG targets. However, the Croatia international has repeated comments he made earlier this week that his mind is not on a move away from Andalucia just yet.

"Things are going well for me right now," the former Schalke player, who has 18 months left on his contract, said. "I hope they continue or even go better.

"I also see all the rumours right now, and I'm proud to see my name associated with PSG, for example, but it's not me who looks after that. I don't worry myself with it. I'm very good here in Seville, fully committed to the project

"I'm proud to be part of this club. I have the good fortune and honour to be captain, which is a great source of pride for me. So, I want to repay that trust to the people at the club. I'm very happy here."

Meanwhile, FIFA agent Ernesto Bronzetti has claimed Juventus star Pogba is set to join the French champions.

He told Premium Calcio: “We know who the next PSG signing will be -- it is Pogba. It is not a done deal but I think it will be done soon.”

He said Italian midfielder Marco Verratti will “not be included in the sale.”

Paris-born Pogba has said he is happy at Juve and the club are hopeful he will agree a new contract.
