Agent: No Ter Stegen Barca deal yet

Marc-Andre ter Stegen's agent has rubbished German media reports that the Borussia Moenchengladbach keeper has all but agreed a four-year deal with Barcelona.

• Tomas: A mature, confident keeper

Rene vom Bruch, speaking shortly after Gladbach announced that ter Stegen was set to leave the club, told Bild no deal had yet been done.

"That's not right," he said. "There is definitely no agreement and no contract. And that’s 200 percent certain."

The Germany under-21 international goalkeeper has long been linked with a switch to Barcelona, where he could replace current No. 1 Victor Valdes, who is set to leave when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Ter Stegen's current deal runs out in 2015, and Moenchengladbach will look to cash in on a player who has spent all his career at the club.

On Tuesday, WAZ reported that he and Barcelona had agreed personal terms for a contract until 2018. The paper, however, said the deal would only be announced once Valdes had made up his mind about where he will continue his career.

It claimed that destination would be Manchester City, and that, with both sides meeting in the Champions League last 16, a deal could only be announced after their games in February and March.
