A vast majority of Bundesliga players have named Bayern Munich's Ballon d'Or candidate Franck Ribery as the best player of the first half of the season in a poll conducted by kicker magazine.
Ribery, 30, has been nominated for the Ballon d'Or shortlist alongside Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona forward Lionel Messi. The award winner will be revealed at the FIFA Ballon d'Or gala in Zurich next week.
In the meantime, the France international midfielder has been lauded by his fellow professionals in Germany. Of the 238 players who took part in the poll, 56.4 percent named him as the star of the first half of the season. His Bayern teammate, Arjen Robben, received 11.4 percent of the vote.
The poll also asked whether Bayern would be able to repeat their 2013 Champions League success this season -- and 59 percent backed Bayern to become the first ever team in the competition's history to win back-to-back Champions League titles.
And with the Bavarian giants already seven points clear of Bayer Leverkusen, 48.9 percent believed they would make the Bundesliga title race boring in the seasons to come.
Only 10.8 percent said they believed Bayern would win fewer than five titles in the next 10 Bundesliga seasons, while 63.7 percent said they would win seven or more.
