Monaco have signed Ivory Coast striker Lacina Traore from Anzhi Makhachkala, the French club have confirmed.

The 23-year-old has signed a four-and-a-half year deal with the big-spending outfit, and will join forces with Radamel Falcao, who signed from Atletico Madrid for 50 million pounds before the start of this season.

Traore, who stands 6ft 8in tall, has four goals in his seven games for his country and scored 12 in 24 matches for Anzhi last season.

His stay at Monaco could be brief with speculation rife he will be loaned out by the club for the remainder of the 2013-14 campaign, West Ham credited with an interest.

Traore joined Anzhi from Kuban Krasnodar in June 2012 but is the latest to leave as the club rein in their spending, which saw them lands the likes of Samuel Eto'o.
