Premier Showdown - December 26

Victory for Tommy Smyth at the weekend with a game to spare. He's really back on form and right back on Dale Johnson's tail.

The rounds come thick and fast at Christmas, and looking to bring some much-needed festive cheer to the Rest of the World team is Martin Walsh who resides in Bermuda.

Martin tells Showdown: "I'm a lifelong Manchester United fan, and I used to stand on the Stretford End watching Best, Charlton, Law, Kidd, Buchan, Morgan etc.

"I became a United fan at primary school, as lunchtime used to be United v City at football and there were less United fans -- so had more chance of touching the ball! I'm not sure many people can say they became a United fan as they liked supporting "underdogs" but in the early 70s compared to Bell, Lee and Summerbee at City they were!

"I've lived in Bermuda for 30 years but here I can see United live every saturday -- which you cant do in England unless you go!"

Game on!

For each round of matches we invite someone to represent the Rest of the World and take on  ESPN FC TV's Tommy Smyth and ESPN FC journalist Dale Johnson in our predictions game.

Points are then awarded as follows:
- Three points for a correct result and scoreline
- One point for a correct result

After the weekend's scores are in and the Showdown result has been worked out, the winning pundit receives three points for their season's total Should the challenger win, the total is added to the Rest of the World tally. In the case of a draw, the points are shared.

We want your entries for the first weekend of the season - so get your selections in now!

Tommy snatches a draw by getting the scoreline correct at the Etihad. The Rest of the World have to settle for a draw! Now Tommy holds the joint lead with Dale.
