Pulis open to Zaha return at Palace

Tony Pulis has confirmed that Crystal Palace would like to take Wilfried Zaha back to Selhurst Park on loan.

Wilfried Zaha impressed for Man Utd on his debut against Singha All Stars.
Zaha has struggled for regular football this season.

• Daly: I want Chamakh for good
• Payne: Christmas cheer

The England international winger left for Manchester United in the summer after helping the Eagles win promotion in his final game for them, May’s Championship playoff final against Watford.

But the 15 million-pound Zaha has only made four appearances for United, is yet to start a league game for them and will probably be allowed to go out on loan in January, manager David Moyes has said.

Newcastle are the favourites to sign Zaha but new Palace manager Pulis said he would be keen to borrow the 21-year-old, who scored 15 goals 143 games for the London club.

He told PA Sport: "Obviously he was a tremendous player at this football club and United spent a lot of money on him. I'm sure Wilfried and David and Manchester United will decide what they want to do.

"We'd be interested, whether we could do it, but we'd be interested if the player was available.

"We're cutting across a line I really don't want to go past, you're talking about other players who are owned by other football clubs. That's disrespectful to United and especially David."

One complication for Palace is that they are only allowed to have two players on loan from other Premier League clubs and Pulis’ squad includes Cameron Jerome, borrowed from his former employers Stoke, and Jason Puncheon, who is owned by Southampton.

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew confirmed he is monitoring Zaha’s situation but remained coy on the question of if he would try to take the winger to St James’ Park.
