Alvaro Morata happy at Real Madrid

London club Arsenal has been linked with a loan move for up-and-coming Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata.

Alvaro Morata says he is happy at Real Madrid and knows nothing about any rumours linking him with a move away from the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

• Train: Real tread carefully

The young attacker had reportedly grown frustrated at a lack of first-team football this season, and had apparently been keen to join Arsenal on loan for the remainder of the campaign to get some regular action.

But speaking at a children's coaching event run by Madrid’s club foundation, Morata told reporters that he had no intention of going anywhere, and was happy with the opportunities he was currently being given by first team coach Carlo Ancelotti and assistant Zinedine Zidane.

"I am very happy here, and feel I have the confidence of the boss, of Zidane, all the coaching staff, of the club," he said. "I am 21, I am happy here, and I want to be here a long time. The boss has put me on in many games which were difficult and I must return the confidence he has shown in me."

Widespread reports -- which appeared to originate in Spain and were subsequently denied by Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger -- had suggested the Gunners had offered a six-month loan deal to the Spain under-21 international. The stories also said the player would welcome the change of scenery having become extra frustrated after slipping behind fellow youngster Jese Rodriguez in the pecking order at the Bernabeu.

Morata claimed he had no knowledge of any such possibilities.

"My agent looks after those type of things," he said. "I am very happy here and hope I can be here for a long time."

The Madrid-born centre-forward has featured 12 times for Madrid so far this season, but 11 of these appearances came as a substitute. Ahead of what will likely be a second start in Saturday’s Copa del Rey last 32 first leg tie at Olimpic de Xativa, Morata said he and his team were taking the game against the third tier minnows as seriously as any other.

"We are really looking forward to it," he said. "We know they will be very motivated to play against Madrid. We know what the atmosphere will be like there, and we are going to enjoy it. You must not underestimate anyone, every game is important. There is a trophy to play for, and we want to win everything."
