Galaxy deny Miroslav Klose rumors

The Los Angeles Galaxy on Tuesday denied reports they are poised to sign Lazio striker Miroslav Klose, multiple sources connected to the club said.

The LA Galaxy say they are not poised to sign Miro Klose.

On Tuesday a report from the Italian daily Corriere della Sera stated that the German international, with his contract set to expire at the end of the current season, was set to sign a pre-contract with the Galaxy.

But when asked if Klose was indeed headed to L.A., a club source responded via email that the German's arrival was "not gonna happen."

Another club source added: "We have not spoken to him or any representatives for him."

If Klose did decide to play in MLS he would likely be signed as a designated player. At the present time, the Galaxy already have the maximum number of DPs on their roster with Robbie Keane, Landon Donovan, and Omar Gonzalez all signing contract extensions in the last year.

Klose has two goals in nine Serie A appearances this season in what has been an injury-hit campaign. In September in an interview with Sport Bild, Klose stated that he had received two "very good offers" from U.S.-based clubs.
