Bayern hope 'mole' stays silent

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has said he hopes the Bayern Munich "mole" who leaked tactics to the media ahead of the 3-0 win at Borusia Dortmund will "fall into hibernation."

Bayern coach Pep Guardiola said "heads will roll" after his team for the game against Juergen Klopp’s side appeared in German tabloid Bild before the match.

And as the club prepared for their Champions League match at CSKA Moscow on Wednesday -- for which Julian Green has been called up -- CEO Rummenigge said: "I have the faint hope that the mole will fall into hibernation with the first snow, that we can end this really soon."

He described the leak as "an unlikeable topic" and "something that is not OK from a moral or ethical point of view."

"I hope that whoever did it will now end it," he added. "Anything else would surprise me with this team, which otherwise has a great character."

"That is not positive, there are rules. We will need to talk about it," captain Philipp Lahm was quoted as saying by Bild. Bayern's Netherlands winger Arjen Robben added: "It's a shame, it's sad, but nothing new. A big team does not need anything like it."

But club president Uli Hoeness was more relaxed, telling reporters: "The players are dying of laughter because of your headlines.

"I can also only smile about it. Should that be our only problem, we can perfectly well live with it."

On Monday, Guardiola reportedly warned his players that, if the mole was traced, he would never play for Bayern again.

A Bild report quoted him as saying: "No matter who it is, heads will roll. The person will be thrown out. He will not play any more games under me."

Following the victory at the Westfalenstadion, the Treble winners are now unbeaten in their last 38 Bundesliga games, and have been hailed as the "best team in the world" by many, including Dortmund CEO Aki Watzke.
