Pep Guardiola 'warns players over leak'

Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola has reportedly warned his players that “heads will roll” once he has traced the person responsible for revealing his tactics ahead of the 3-0 defeat of Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.

Schaaf: All the stars
• Honigstein: Bayern find yet another way

Following the victory at the Westfalenstadion, the Treble winners are now unbeaten in their last 38 Bundesliga games, and have been hailed as the “best team in the world” by many, including Dortmund CEO Aki Watzke at the weekend.

However, behind the scenes at the club it appears there is a mole making life uncomfortable for Guardiola, who was surprised to read about his tactics against Dortmund in Bild ahead of the game.

According to a report published in Bild on Sunday, the Bayern boss issued a warning to his players on Saturday and told them he will not rest until he finds out who supplied the newspaper with the inside information.

“No matter who it is, heads will roll. The one will be thrown out. He will not play any more games under me,” Guardiola is quoted as saying.

Speaking to Sky later on Sunday, Bayern president Karl-Heinz Rummenigge also issued a threat against the mole.

“Pep Guardiola cannot like this. I can only advise the person in question to stop doing it right now, otherwise he’ll have a major problem not only with Pep Guardiola, but also with the whole club," Rummenigge said

Elsewhere, Bayern have had little else to worry about ahead of their upcoming Champions League trip to CSKA Moscow on Wednesday.

The European champions are now four points clear of second-placed Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga, with Dortmund already trailing by seven.

Bayern have collected 35 points from a total of 13 games, one more point than at this stage in the club’s record-breaking 2012-13 season.

“We have a nice cushion on Dortmund and are four ahead of Leverkusen,” Bayern captain Philipp Lahm said. “But we should not make the mistake to count on being champions.”
