John Guidetti hints at January loan

Manchester City striker John Guidetti has raised the possibility he will leave the club on loan in January by saying he is looking for first-team football.

John Guidetti's first-team chances at Man City look extremely limited.
John Guidetti is battling Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko, Alvaron Negredo and Stevan Jovetic for a spot in Man City's attack.

• Vieira: City should've got Pogba
• Mooney: Should Richards go?

The Sweden international, who has been linked with Stoke and Sunderland, has not made a first-team appearance since April 2012 because of a mystery virus that then caused problems in his right leg.

But the 21-year-old is back in training and is determined to return to action, whether that is at the Etihad Stadium or elsewhere.

He told TV4: “I want to play football. Whether that will be at Manchester City or somewhere else, I do not yet know.  Currently I am training hard and fighting. January is the time to show what I can do.”

Guidetti’s last football came in a successful season on loan at Feyenoord, for whom he scored 20 goals in 23 games in the 2011-12 season.

He has also been loaned out to Brommapojkarna, in his native Sweden, and Burnley, but has only made one senior appearance for City.

And manager Manuel Pellegrini’s decision to sign Alvaro Negredo and Stevan Jovetic in the summer means he has four expensive strikers to select from, which could limit Guidetti’s chances at City.
