Bayern not planning winter transfers

Bayern Munich have no plans to enter the market during the January window, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has told kicker.

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has hailed the "super" Bayern team, who have already claimed the Champions League, Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal and UEFA Super Cup in 2013.

Schaaf: Team Arjen

Despite suffering injuries to a host of players -- including Bastian Schweinsteiger, Javi Martinez, Mario Goetze, Thiago Alcantara, Xherdan Shaqiri, Claudio Pizarro and Holger Badstuber -- Bayern have made an excellent start to the new season.

Under Pep Guardiola, Bayern have claimed four wins out of four in the Champions League and established a four-point lead at the top of the Bundesliga.

“We have a super team out there on the pitch,” Rummenigge, the club’s CEO, said. “We can cope with nearly every injury without running into problems.”

Rummenigge added that no player “wants to leave Bayern in the winter”, and so the domestic and European champions have no intention of making any changes to the squad in January.

“I am absolutely delighted with how the team has developed,” he said.

Bayern sporting director Matthias Sammer said further injuries could potentially force a rethink but added in kicker: “Right now, we’re not thinking about changing anything.”

Bayern face a further injury concern with the news that Arjen Robben has withdrawn from the Netherlands squad ahead of their friendly against Colombia on Tuesday.

The 29-year old picked up a minor ankle injury in his country’s 2-2 draw against Japan at the weekend and German news wire dpa quotes Netherlands boss Louis van Gaal as saying: “There is still some synovial fluid. That match comes too early for him.”

However, media reports suggest Robben will be fit in time for the crunch Bundesliga clash with second-placed Borussia Dortmund at the Westfalenstadion on Saturday.
