Tottenham midfielder Lewis Holtby does not plan to leave the club following reported interest from Serie A, according to the player's agent.
• Fitch: Defoe should move on
Holtby, 23, joined Spurs from Schalke in January and has recently enjoyed a run in the first team, having struggled for game time upon his arrival.
Inter Milan and Roma have both been linked with the Germany international, however Holtby’s representative, Marcus Noack, has dismissed the speculation.
"Lewis has definitely no intention of leaving Tottenham," Noack told Goal. "On the contrary, he feels very comfortable at the club and in London. He wants to establish himself further and contribute so the club can reach its goals this season."
Holtby missed Spurs’ entire preseason due to an injury, however, he has returned to action seamlessly this term, starting seven consecutive league games before being left on the bench for the recent defeat against Newcastle.
"If you take into consideration that he missed all of his preseason due to an injury that he had during the European Under-21 Championship, it is remarkable he has already played 13 matches and scored or assisted seven goals," Noack said.
"He worked very hard in rehabilitation and after good performances in the Europa League and the Capital One Cup, he pushed himself forward for a place in the starting lineup for Premier League matches. I get the feeling that Lewis comes back even stronger after an injury."
