Juventus hit with stadium closure

Juventus head coach Antonio Conte believes Juventus should be given credit after beating title rivals Napoli 3-0 to close the gap of Serie A leaders Roma

The Juventus Stadium will be partially closed for Juventus' next two Serie A games as a result of insulting chants during Sunday's 3-0 win against Napoli.

The Curva Sud and Curva Nord will  both be closed for the visit of Udinese on Dec. 1 while only the south stand will remain closed for the clash with Sassuolo. The punishment, announced by the Italian Lega Serie A, could be followed by a full stadium closure should there be more similar incidents at future Bianconeri games.

Nine occasions were counted by Lega representative in which Juve fans made chants of a geographically discriminatory nature. The club were already carrying a one-year suspended punishment following similar chants during the recent Serie A game with Genoa.

Furthermore, Juve have been ordered to pay a fine of 50,000 euros with an additional 10,000 euros owing due to the lighting of flares by their fans. Napoli have been ordered to pay 50,000 euros for throwing flares and fireworks at the home supporters, resulting in four people requiring first aid attention.
