Moyes 'considering Young United future'

Manchester United manager David Moyes is considering Ashley Young’s future at the club after having to warn the player for a second time about diving, according to reports.

Ashley Young has yet to score for Manchester United this season
Man United boss David Moyes is concerned about Ashley Young's growing reputation for going to ground too easily.

• Okwonga: Karma in play
• Hamann: 'Worse than Suarez'

Young, 28, was roundly criticised after he went to ground to win a penalty during United’s goalless Champions League draw against Real Sociedad on Wednesday.

Although Moyes failed to publicly condemn Young’s behaviour, as he had previously following a similar incident against Crystal Palace in September it is believed that he will speak to the England international about his tendency to go down easily.

Widespread reports suggest that Moyes feels he is unable to trust former the Aston Villa winger in big games if he is liable to get himself booked for simulation and possibly sent off.

Sir Alex Ferguson had previously warned Young about his behaviour, something he specifically spoke about in his autobiography.

He said: "Ashley ran into trouble against QPR in the 2011-12 season, when Shaun Derry was sent off and our player was accused of diving.

"I left him out for the next game and told him that the last thing he needed as a Manchester United player was a reputation for going down easily.

"Ashley did it two weeks in a row but we stopped it. Going to ground too easily was not something I tolerated."
