Ecuador Kit: Through the years

Design: Based upon the design of the country's flag, Ecuador play in a predominantly yellow shirt, blue shorts and red socks. Their current kit, supplied by domestic manufacturer Marathon, features blue trim and a blue-red gradient stripe across of the top of the chest. In the current design, the country's name also appears above the federation logo.

Short History: Given that the 2014 tournament will only be the third occasion in which Ecuador have competed at the World Cup, their back catalogue of kits is far from extensive. However, they have shown innovation in their designs thus far. The 2002 effort saw blue feature heavily as the secondary colour, running down both sides of the shirt with red line work adding to the colourful but tasteful design. In 2006, meanwhile, one shoulder was given a blue makeover while blue and red slashes across the front added vibrancy to the shirt. Both kits were completed with standard blue shorts and red shorts.

The greatest kit: The 2006 kit which carried Ecuador to the knockout rounds is the best remembered of the country's shirts, with the dynamic design matching the use of bold colours to create a memorable and visually pleasing combination.

Kits through the years:

Ecuador have only made it to two World Cup in 2002 and 2006.
