Film 'to chronicle Sepp Blatter and FIFA'

Actors Tim Roth and Gerard Depardieu are set to star in a movie about FIFA president Sepp Blatter, according to the Guardian.

Sepp Blatter was successful in steering the World Cup to Brazil though FIFA has done little in the years since to help get the nation up to speed or monitor its progress.
Tim Roth will play Sepp Blatter in a projected film about FIFA.

The project has a provisional title of F2014, and will be released in 2014 to coincide with the World Cup in Brazil.

Azerbaijan, France and Brazil are the locations for film shooting, the Azerbaijani ministry of culture told the newspaper.

Roth will play Blatter, while Depardieu will play Jules Rimet -- FIFA's longest-serving president, and whose name adorns the World Cup trophy.

Leuviah Films, a French production company, is in charge of the film, along with Thelma Films. According to the report, the French company does not appear to have any previous movie credits.

Funding for the project was not reported, but a video on FIFA's official website shows that the 77-year-old Blatter approves of the casting of Roth.

"It was a very interesting get-together," Blatter said in the video. "I had read a lot of the CV and all the realisations [films] that this Tim Roth has made. I was very eager to meet him, and I have just realised that really we have something in common."

Blatter said in the video that Roth agreed that the pair had "some common, let's say, qualities".
